Virtual Cycle Rides - Budapest, Hungary

Begin your day with a brisk cycle or jog in sunny Budapest. The parliament building glistens...As you travel the wonderfully paved cycling/walking path along the Danube, you are immersed in the is always fun when folks wave at you as you travel by. You cruise past waterfront cafes and are tempted to stop for a quick beverage and some conversation. Segment 2 takes you through the square and across the chain bridge...the scenery is superb. You make a brief stop in the park to gaze at the fountain before returning to your brisk course along the river. Filmed at night, segment 3 starts at just a bit slower pace. It is great fun to travel across the illuminated bridge without any fear of being run over! The pace quickens as you progress...just a beautiful ride in a lovely city. This is one of the most immersive videos I have seen.
A note about the audio on this DVD. If you prefer only the sounds of the world around you, as I do, this may not be for you. Instead of birds, trains, and hubbub, the audio track is a driving, pulsating rhythm, which some purchasers do prefer. That being said, it is a rhythm that WILL keep you moving, especially in segment 3. If you stay in tempo you will have a solid workout! It would be nice if there was a choice of audio in the "play all" selection, so one could choose between music or ambient sounds. Of course, it is understandably difficult to offer options that will satisfy everyone's tastes. The scenery is engaging, so I will not put this DVD at the bottom of my stack, I will simply mute the sound and pair it with my own playlist, or keep the ambiance true with the music of Liszt, Bartok, or Kodaly.

I have several of these DVDs. French Alps, Budapest, Hungary and Istanbul, Turkey. I watch them while riding my stationary bike but my husband loves to watch them as well while sitting on the couch. It has given us an opportunity to see places in the world that we might not otherwise been able to see. These DVDs are so real that even while riding my stationary bike, I would love to pull off at some roadside cafe for coffee or stop along the way to visit the local people or pet a Great Pyrenees dog in the Alps. Keep making these DVDs and I will keep buying them. It is definitely worth the price. I have put alot of miles on my stationary bike and when I look up it feels like I haven't gone anywhere. But with these DVDs it feels more like a road trip. Thank you for sharing these beautiful journeys with me. And I have had the occassion to contact customer service and I have gotten prompt responses with most pleasant conversations.
