Virtual Walk - Praia de Nossa Senhora da Rocha - Portugal
Praia de Nossa Senhora da Rocha, located in the Algarve region of Portugal
near the village of Porches, is a picturesque beach known for its dramatic cliffs,
turquoise waters, and historical significance. It is one of the most charming and
tranquil spots along the Algarve coastline.
The beach is named after the small Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Rocha, perched
on a cliff above the beach. This whitewashed chapel, dating back to the medieval
period, is a key attraction and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Praia de Nossa Senhora da Rocha is divided into two distinct areas by a towering
rocky promontory. These two beaches—Nossa Senhora da Rocha and Praia Nova—
are connected by a man-made tunnel carved through the cliff, allowing easy access
between them.
The beach is surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, which provide natural shelter
and add to its secluded charm. Visitors often climb to the top for panoramic views
of the coastline.
