Ride All Over Rome, Italy With Music to Keep You Going
These virtual traveling videos are perfect to play during your cardio workouts at home or in a fitness center. The uplifting music motivates you even more.

I’ve heard it said that Rome is the world’s biggest open-air museum and this footage shows you exactly why.

The number of famous landmarks visited is fantastic and includes the Colosseum, Pantheon and the Castel Sant'Angelo, St Peter’s Basilica, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Venezia as well as many more. You also get to enjoy a cycle along the banks of the River Tiber as well as some of Rome’s famous ancient roads.

My favourite section though is exploring Rome at night and getting to see some of those same landmarks, still bustling with people, but now beautifully illuminated.

The footage is excellent throughout, professionally captured with obviously well thought out routes. As a result of not being too aggressively edited I think it provides a real travellers feel for what this fantastic city is like.

Segment one begins on a bustling street and it is immediately apparent that this cannot be your only visit..there is too much to see! You are not exercising alone...the jogger in front of you is in great shape...the challenge has begun...you will keep up! You receive friendly waves as people pass by.... It is great fun to explore the narrow streets and travel past shops and cafes of this ancient city! The driving electronic beat will pace your workout, there are no ambient sounds here. If you choose to be a "purist" you can always mute this and choose your own playlist...perhaps Vivaldi or Paganini? As you travel onward, you leave the bustling streets and traverse beautiful tree lined residential streets all the while marveling at the incredible parallel parking skills the local folks must possess! Keep going, the park is lovely.
Segment 2 is a sunny day with a clear blue sky..you join in with all of your exercising compadres on this bike path along the water....bikers, hikers, joggers and rowers...you are all one in your quest for fitness!! As you pass by a few fisherman and observe the trees and the graffiti often artfully scrawled on the stone walls, you know that this segment is really all about the workout. The electronic music is still there and if you are jogging like I was, keeping up with the tempo of the music will have you sprinting. A suggestion...if you want to really burn out your workout, do segment 2 last; if you want to burn it out in the middle and then slow it down near the end of segment 3 as a cool down, just "play all" in order.
Segment 3 has you enjoying a cool, cloudless day exploring the plazas around and near the Colosseum. There are a few gladiators strolling about, but thankfully no lions. This is simply a beautiful place to exercise. The sun setting behind the Colosseum is breathtaking. The umbrella pines (think Respighi's "Pines of Rome") are utterly fascinating. This is a superb DVD.
